Marina Tzoannopoulou studied English and Linguistics at Aristotle University, Thessaloniki (B.A., Ph.D.) and Trinity College, Dublin (M.Phil.). She has taught English as a foreign language for 15 years in all levels of education. She is currently a lecturer at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where she teaches courses in academic writing and English for specific purposes. Her research interests lie in the areas of second language acquisition, academic discourse, English for specific purposes and content and language integrated learning. She has published in journals and international conference proceedings and has co-edited books in applied linguistics.
